Executive Committee of SAAA

Don Injety has been a member of SAAA since 1988 and is honored to serve as the current Treasurer of this association. Don has previously served as the Assistant Treasurer and has enjoyed being a member of this association. Don along with his wife Shyamala and children Shannon, Brandon and Ryan live in Silver Spring, Maryland.

Don was born on November 23, 1962 in Nuzvid, Andhra Pradesh, India. He is the third child of James and Juliamma Injety of Lakkavaram, Andhra Pradesh. Don went to the Adventist School in Nuzvid for elementary education, when his parents worked at Gifford Memorial Hospital. His family moved frequently as his father was transferred and he went to Adventist schools in Narsapur and Secundrabad. He fondly remembers life at Flaiz Memorial High School in Narsapur where he studied until he went to Spicer Memorial College in 1979. His days at Spicer Memorial College were spent studying and also playing volleyball, a sport that he loves to this day. He graduated from Spicer Memorial College in 1984, with a degree in Business Administration. He was elected Treasurer of his graduating class. The desire to acquire an MBA brought him to Andrews University in Berrien Springs, Michigan in 1984. While completing his MBA in 1987, he joined INTELSAT, a Satellite and Telecommunications Services provider based in Washington DC, where he is currently the Senior Manager, Contracts and Procurement. His work has taken him across many countries and many continents.

While he was a student at Spicer College he met his future wife Shyamala in Bombay, where his parents lived. Don and Shyamala were married on December 23, 1990. God performed a miracle in their lives by blessing them with twins, Shannon and Brandon on March 28, 1994. Their next bundle of joy, Ryan, arrived on June 15, 2000. Don’s hobbies include playing volleyball and tennis. He enjoys gardening and likes to grow vegetables. He also loves to drive and has driven twice across the US along with his family. Don is honored to be serving SAAA and looks forward with anticipation to the exciting things yet to happen in the future of this association.
