Priscilla Shyam, Secretary

Priscilla Paka Shyam has been a member of Southern Asia Adventist Association since 2008 and is honored to serve as the Secretary of the association. Priscilla along with her husband, Shyam and children, Samantha and Rebecca, lives in Silver Spring, Maryland.

Priscilla was born in Hyderbad, Andhra Pradesh, India. She is the eldest daughter of David and Shirley Peethala. Priscilla had her early education at Seventh Day Adventist School in Secunderabad and Flaiz Memorial High school in Narsapur. She completed her PUC at Lowry College in Bangalore after which she went to Spicer Memorial College, Pune, where she graduated in 1984 with a double major in English and Secretarial Science. She feels thankful and fortunate to have received the Adventist education. While she was a student at Spicer she met her husband and instantly fell in love which led to their marriage in 1986.

Priscilla worked as the office secretary for the North Andhra Section of Seventh day Adventists in Hyderabad from 1984 to 1988. She moved to the United States to expand her horizons. She is currently an Information Analyst at the International Finance Corporation, the private lending arm of the World Bank Group, a job she is very thankful for. Priscilla also volunteers at Adventist Community Center in Silver Spring, Maryland, and teaches computer courses.

Priscilla likes to go on long walks whenever time permits and enjoys spending time with her family. She is proud to be a member of SAAA and looks forward to memorable times. She praises God for the peace and joy He has granted her.
